As the class prepares to plan its large-scale collaborative project, an ARG (or some other Transmedia genre) that we will plan, develop and, in the week before Thanksgiving, actually carry out, each ARGHive working group team should come up with their own idea for the project. Prepare a brief proposal that includes some basic ideas about:
- A plot (characters, setting, mythology etc.)
- A target audience (campus, Fredericksburg, the whole world)
- Tools (software, social media, facilities) at our disposal for telling your story
- The core challenges we'll need to overcome to realize your vision
As you hone your idea, keep your plan as realistic as possible bearing in mind our strengths (25 potential puppetmasters) and our weaknesses (25 potential puppetmasters). Consider what you've learned from your ARGHive project and from the other example's we've looked at. What works? What doesn't?
After all proposal are in, the class will discuss on and elect one idea to implement. (NB: The instructor reserves the right to veto any idea.) The team whose idea is chosen will get first choice in all task delegations.
Each team should upload a proposal here document here, about 2 to 4 pages total, and be prepared to discuss it in class on Friday, Oct 25.
